"In The Swamp" by Thomas Lewis 40 years ago today

I am very fortunate to own this painting. This 8x10 inch jewel was purchased by my father for my mother on July 20th 1969. My father gave it to me in September or 1978 - two year after my mother had passed away.
You may wonder how I can be so sure about the date - it was purchased in Taos, NM from the artist who signed it.

Especially for Naoma Zinck / Moon Landing Day 7-20-69 / Thanks Thomas Lewis

I love this painting. When do you go to NM. Yes according my dream literature you are confused and searching for something, Going from room to room and opening doors and now finding the way out. I used to dream that all the time, about the time I retired. I settled down after I had been retired for awhile. I was looking for myself wondering what I would do as a retired creative lady. I soon found out. I started to take art classes. I'm loving it. Blessings

Your interpetation of my dream is very interesting - strikes a chord of truth with me for sure.

Neat old painting, that's quite a frame too! I've struggled with depression too, I guess we're just a couple of moody old artists. Losing your son and then having the health problems is just not something you can shake off. I hope your trip is renewing to both body and spirit:)

Lilli - this trip is just what I need right now. No, what I really need is a full summer off in New Mexico but that isn't on my calender anywhere - ha!
