Thought you might enjoy seeing an old painting I did from an old photo from my home town of Santa Rosa, New Mexico. When I finished the painting an aquaintance asked if he could hang it in his business and I agreed. Next thing I knew the business was closed and he and my painting were no where to be found. Oh well, live and learn I guess.

What a great painting. How rude!!! He took that painting. I hope you hunted him down!! LOL.
Love the "mood/feel" of the painting. Have you thought to recreate it again?
sandy
You know what was strangeSandy - it was at an indoor flea market where I also had a booth and he disappeared over night and no one had any information on him, or at least they weren't sharing it with me. I have thought of recreating it now that I am (hopefully)a little more skilled.
That's a nice painting Cara, bummer! At least you're not alone, I just heard on the news that 163 million dollars worth of paintings were stolen from the E.G. Buehrle Collection in Zurich:(
Lilli -
Yeah, all of great artist have the same problem....ha!
Well....it's just damn rude!!!

s
Really! But it taught me a lesson about being to trusting -
Sorry to hear the painting was pilfered, but at least you got a picture of it to remember!
No, you just had a dopey friend. I have given away dozens and dozens of paintings over the years. Come to my place and say you like something and you can take it home. Now that my paintings are worth a little bit do you think anybody will actually buy one? No, everybody has a house full and thats it. Won't buy something for a present...people are generally thoughtless idiots. I very rarely give away anything now. Yes I am bitter. Signed, Mr. Sunshine
Mr. Sunshine - you're to good at what you do to be bitter, but then agaian , who knows better than me that admiration and pats on the back don't pay the light bill - ha!
Doug - I guess I should be flattered that he liked it enough to steal it - Ha!
that's santa rosa for you.
Michelle - I hate to tell you this but it wasn't Santa Rosa, it happened in Albuquerque. Lock your doors!
