Hello Bill.....

...and you know who you are.....ha ha!
I apologize for my long absence and thank all of you who have kept in touch. I have not been feeling well and feeling pretty sorry for myself on top of that. Lately I have dragged myself to work and then home again to climb into bed, fall asleep and then wake up the next morning and start it all over again. And that has me feeling very blue...
One up beat thing though, last weekend I attended a wonderful wedding in a suburb of Detroit. On the way home we found our way to Lake Michigan. My first ever visit to the Great Lakes. It was unbelievable...
The weather was wonderful all weekend and I thought I'd share some of the photo's with you. And yes Gerald, I was uncomfortable with such a large body of water but still glad I saw it.
I promise I'll start painting soon....promise...really.....

I didn't think those tattered beach fences still existed! Sorry to hear about your downs, but good to hear you're hanging in there.

Oh honey, I hope you can feel better soon. Just a teeny painting, like onpainting said. Look at my link to Joyce Washor who does incredible tiny little watercolors and oils.
Best to you, Cara.

I know all too well that work-sleep-work-sleep syndrome. Been there all too often. We always make it back to the easel - somehow - though, don't we? To paraphrase Jeff Goldblum in one (or two) of those Jurassic Park movies, "Painting will find a way."

These are great photos. Glad you got to see the Great Lakes. Amazing isn't it? I know what you mean about being uncomfortable with such a large body of water, though. It's awesome to see, but I don't want to be out on it. I have been, but I start to freak a little when there's nothing but water in sight. (Us land-lubbers gotta stick together;-)

Also, your "Messy Studio Tour" got me moving on a post of my own like that, so I gave you credit for the inspiration and a link to your post in mine, just today. If you have a look, you might be surprised at the similarities.

Hang in there, hon. Your brushes are calling! ;-)

Cara,
I have missed all of your comments and was wondering how you were. You better get out of those doldrums girl! Life is too short and you are an incredible contribution to the world. I need you to get better!

Do you people have any idea how much I love you? Seriously - I have grown so fond of all my fellow artists and blogging buddies. You have kept me going through some really tough days.

Doug - your style remind me so much of my own sweet son - I love reading your site.

Sandy - you are always there and I feel like you live right across the street and we're headed out for coffee somewhere.

Mary - You too are always encouraging me and I appreciate you so much.

A - Despite recently running into you here in cyber space you feel like a kindred spirit and an old friend.

Dee - You have become my touch stone - my connection to my beloved home.

Thank you guys!

Good photos - if you ever get the opportunity, visit Mackinac Island on the lake. A wonderful place of victorian homes and horses.

Hope you are feeling better day by day. If you need medication could you share a bit?

I bet you are gaining first hand knowledge that the single most important thing in life is good health.

May you find an abundance!
