I really like this tree. Really I do. What I don't like is the rest of the canvas. At first I had a crazy notion to put in these flowers (see photo below)...what was I thinking? Then I took them out. Better but lacking. I'm stalled - I haven't got a clue where to go from here. Still, I like the tree.
I'm headed to California for a conference - maybe the west coast air will blow out the cobwebs. Later -

I liked the flowers, how about...hmmm...let me see an old, an old...nah, the trees are fine!
I've got it! How 'bout an old radiator propped up against the tree? What do ya think Ron?
I don't like the red of the flowers with the tree, they seemed to compete. Keep it simple at the base, maybe a little white or whitish gold grass. Hope your trip is good:)
Lilli - I agree - I can't believe I put them in to start with, it looked so much better when I took them out. I need to "fiddle" with it some more - but no more red paint...what was I thinking?
Does it really need to be with or without flowers?…
As a tree, whether or not it has flowers at its base has no bearing when a tree is as wonderful as this.
cara,
I like the flowers - they draw you and make your eyes move around the painting.

i like both versions...you don't need to go anywhere with this Carla
you like the tree and you nailed it...nugh said
Thanks for visiting Rob. Finding my stopping point has always been my weakness....how ironic in light of recent events - ha!
Dee - thanks for the visit and the comment.
Gerald - I have to really work hard at not "worring" a picture into the trash pile.
Cara, you have a way with trees though. The shapes are very good. I have the same problems with 'green' foreground and middle ground.
Hope you are well.
Mary - Thanks for the comment. I do like this tree.
I just got back from the Dr's - I start Cardio Rehab next week - they say I'm doing well -
Thanks for checking on me.
