Dear friends - Sorry, still no painting to post. I went back to work on July 1st and at the same time they changed some of my medicine so I have had a hard time doing much of anything. I promise, I'll get back to work soon but until then I thought I'd post the best 6 minutes of YouTube I've seen in a long time.
After all - they say laughter is good medicine.

I love that video! Hope you feel better soon:)
Thanks for the laugh! I hope you feel better soon.
Lilli and Dar - I'm feeling much better thanks.
Oh yea, I've seen that one and its' funny.
Hope you feel more like yourself soon.
No need to apologize. I was totally incapacitated (as far as painting was concerned, anyway) by medication the whole of last year, and have, in fact, just recently picked up a brush again.
Hang in there!
Like that video, too.
Master Decker - thanks for stopping in for a visit. It encourages me to hear that others have had these periods of desolation and still made thier way back.
Carla,
I hope your feeling better. Thanks for posting on my blog. I'm happy that Cutie Pie tickled you, it did me as well when I was painting it. Take care and email when you have a minute.
Hugs,
madison
Thanks Madison -
Hey Cara,
Thanks again for the kind words and well wishes...your mention of your 40's being your most kick-ass decade made me wonder what it would have been like to be a fly on the wall and have seen you likely on a Harley somewhere??hmmm...Another thought.. I sometimes find it profoundly interesting to look on work recently completed and find subconcious meaning in the image that pertains to whatever was going on in your life at the time of it's painting..almost like interpreting dreams. The reason I mention it is because I saw your post from June 26, "Gate with yellow Iris" and immediately thought of it's profound symbolism as it pertains to your recent brush with death, or better put in this anology, your recent sudden approach to the pearly gates..(note the open gates and the cross on top)..am I reading too deeply, maybe so but this stuff is fun..even more chilling is the symbol of the Iris: dating back to Ancient Greek times when the Greek Goddess Iris, the messenger of the gods and the personification of the rainbow, acted as the link between heaven and earth. (insert jack Pallance looking into the camera and saying dramatically, "Believe it or Not!) I know, this is an obscure 80's reference but suitable. I'm just glad toy're well and will be looking for future paintings and there hidden symbolism.
All the best,
Todd
Todd - "Believe it or Not " you aren't the first one to mention the relevance of the gate painting(s). I guess its just one of those "Unsolved Mysteries" - Ha - Gotcha!
Seriously, I hadn't deliberately decided to paint symbolic paintings. It makes me wonder...and the information about the irises...very very cool. Thanks
